Stephanie Bottenfield

Stephanie Bottenfield was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She started dancing at the age of 12 under the direction of Ron Morgan who was a Broadway Sensation back in the 80’s. As Stephanie went head first in all styles of dance, she realized she wanted more! After a few years, she started attending Master Classes from Joe Lanteri, Danny Tidwell, and Lauren Adams from NYCDA.

Laura Stauder

Laura began her dance journey at the age of two. After sixteen years of dance instruction, she joined MTSU’s Dance Team and Dance Theatre Company where she learned from many amazing choreographers. Over the last twelve years, she has continued her training while teaching many different styles of dance. She has also received many choreography awards in contemporary, lyrical, and jazz.

Kristen Gaines

Kristen first began dancing at the age of three. Although she only danced for a portion of her early childhood, she eventually found her way back to dance and knew that she wanted it to be a part of her life forever. She attended college at MTSU and was a member of MTSU’s dance program and the MTSU dance team throughout her time there. Kristen graduated with her B.S. in Dance and has been formally trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, contemporary, and hip hop.

Joanne Hunter

Ms. Hunter was born in Montreal, Canada, where she co-founded a dance-theater company performing for students and families. Ms. Hunter relocated to Nashville in 1998. She trained in the Cecchetti method of classical ballet (I.S.T.D. diplomas), as well as in jazz and various forkloric dance forms. Ms. Hunter is proud to celebrate 40 years of teaching dancers of all ages in Tennessee and Canada.

Jessica Boyd began taking dance at the age of three, and has over 16 years of dance training. She came to Dance Works as a student in 1998 and has been here ever since. She was on the Diamonds competition team and was also a student teacher during high school.

Ashley Norton

Ashley is an instructor and choreographer specializing in jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. Her passion for dance became apparent at the young age of two and has not stopped since. She began her formal instruction at the age of four, competing at age six, and has been with Dance Works since its inception in 1997. Throughout her years of competitive dance, Ashley attended many workshops including Tremaine, CO. Dance, Hollywood Vibe, Monsters of Hip Hop, Jump, and NYCDA.

Alyssa Suits

Alyssa's dance journey began when she was just 3 years old after her mother realized she couldn't go anywhere without dancing. She received her dance education at Merritt's Dance Center in Schenectady, NY and was formally trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary, acrobatics, modern, and baton twirling. She danced competitively starting at the age of 5 until she was 17 during which she received multiple national awards and titles as a solo and group dancer.

Originally from South Louisiana, Brenda has been a native of Murfreesboro for over twenty years. Brenda founded Dance Works in 1997 with a vision of creating a new and positive approach to the art of dance. Under her direction, Dance Works has grown into Rutherford County's largest and most prestigious dance studio.
