Stephanie Bottenfield

Stephanie Bottenfield was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She started dancing at the age of 12 under the direction of Ron Morgan who was a Broadway Sensation back in the 80’s. As Stephanie went head first in all styles of dance, she realized she wanted more! After a few years, she started attending Master Classes from Joe Lanteri, Danny Tidwell, and Lauren Adams from NYCDA. Later, Stephanie joined the Gregory Hancock Contemporary Dance Company where she performed in Hair and many Nutcracker Productions. Her favorite scene is the Snow scene! Stephanie continued her dance studies at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana under Sarah Mangelsdorf, Michael Worcel, Ya’kov Eden, and the fabulous Louann Young. While at Ball State, Stephanie participated in many award winning student pieces. She was also given the opportunity to be the choreographer assistant to the Ballet Instructor Louann Young for her final two years in school. Here, she got to follow Louann around and learn the ins and outs of putting on the perfect Ballet Show. She Graduated in May 2009 with a B.S in Dance Performance and a Minor in Educational Dance. After college, she moved to Sarasota, Florida to start her teaching career. During her time in Florida (from 2009-2019), she was awarded multiple regional choreography awards as well as a National Choreography Award (in 2016). Stephanie has recently relocated to Murfreesboro with her husband and is very excited to be a part of Dance Works. She hopes to be able to spread her love, passion and knowledge to all the dancers she meets.
